The citizens
of Mangalore will have nothing to fear or worry about from the 2nd December
onwards. They have to enroll for the Sri Sri Yoga course. This seems
to be a new discovery as no classical texts have any mention of it.
It is
supposed to confer good health, concentration, memory better relations
and immunity. One can conclude that the police stations, psychiatrists
and hospitals are going to close down soon if all citizens decide to
take the course.
Mr. Ravishankar
who has a propensity to flaunt two Sris and a number of fancy titles
before his moniker is also skilled in the art of publicity. Recently
he had landed up in Nandigram after the CRPF had made the area safe
only to use the opportunity to claim that his art of living had brought
peace to the area!
One thing
for certain is that his organization is going to gain at least Rs.250
per entrant, as all those intending to enlist are advised to purchase
a donation coupon for this amount
and also bring along a bed sheet. The loser seems to be the citizenry
of Mangalore in more than one way- the entrance fee and the taxes due
to the City Corporation- none of the hoardings carry the mandatory receipt
number of the amount paid to this body.

Any way,
the telephone lines and all other mundane means of communication can
be discarded as the Sri Sri Yoga promises to develop the sixth sense-
which is very much needed by Mangaloreans to know where the traffic
jams will be, the timing and duration of the load shedding and when
the water will flow in the taps. In the rain season this would serve
to find where the pot holes on the water logged roads! So, we would
advise all Mangaloreans to join this course! They could discard their
mobile phones, internet connections and the landlines and communicate
to each other by the sixth sense awakened by the Sri Sri Yoga.
Any takers?
Yours truly would have been happy to join if any of the teachers of
Sri Sri Yoga or the originator himself could convince me about their
developed sixth sense by reading the number of a sealed currency note.
I would be happy to donate all my material property to their foundation,
become their member for the rest of my life and also work for the “spiritual”
well being of my less fortunate brothers and sisters.
